To avoid trip hazards, the greatest difference between the tops of neighbouring flooring surfaces shall not exceed 4 mm in height, and the gap between two adjacent floorings shall be less than 20 mm, according to Clause 4.2.4.4 of ISO 14122-2. If not possible to re-route or remove the hazard, it shall be properly signed as a hazard with a yellow / black strip according to ISO 3864-1 standard.
